Before the official start of our gathering we provide brief updates regarding events and people that help us to stay connected.
Pastoral Prayer
Additionally before we officially begin our gathering we will take some time to pray for various topics related to our church and our community.
Call to Worship
Our call to worship is the official start to our gathering. The leader will invite God’s people to officially gather to worship our God. We recognize this moment as distinct from the busyness of our everyday lives, and as a moment where we come before God to give Him the honor that He alone deserves.
Songs of Praise and Adoration
Our aim is to sing songs that primarily describe who are God is and what He has done. We live in a world that is very self centered. We often become people who are primarily inward looking, thinking mostly about our lives and our problems. Our aim is to sing songs that declares the glory of God. Our hope is that we might be people who look upward to God instead of only inward to ourselves.
Scripture Reading
Each gathering we take some time to read Scripture. We recognize that scripture is the word of God breathed by God Himself. The bible is not just another book written by another man. It is the actual words of God given to the people of God so that we might know Him properly. In recognizing the word of God we often stand in reverence to the word as believers have done for centuries.
Sermon
Our sermons are primarily expository meaning our hope is to expose a section of scripture to understand its designed meaning as its author intended for its audience. The majority of our sermons walk through a book of the bible. We often rotate between old and new testament books in the bible. Our sermons are typically 35 minutes long.
Song of Response or Reflection
In response to word of God sung, read, and preached, we sing one last song in response to God. We sing declaring the glorious work of God accomplished in our lives. We sing also thinking about the significance of this work. We sing remembering His goodness and our command to obey Him.
Benediction
Our benediction is the official end to our gathering. We recognize that we will now leave one another and continue to live our lives as the church loving one another and engaging the lost with the gospel. As we scatter we leave with a blessing and a reminder of who we are called to be as the people of God living as witnesses of Jesus in a world that desperately needs Him.
